Brakes:
More important that how fast a car can go what matters is how quickly it can stop.  Braking into turns with consistent performance (no fade) can make all the difference in your entry speed.  Most road races are won or lost in the turns.  Most of the stock braking system has been replaced on the Racepad M3.  New pedals, master cylinders, BMW Motorsport ABS, custom ABS harness and a big brake kit based on the Porsche 993 Twin Turbo all add up to an impressive braking system.

The BMW braking system is excellent and more than sufficient for most race conditions.  The extra steps were taken in this project to experiment with new limits and test new new technology combinations.  The car is engineered to handle endurance races and to be competitive with other modified cars of its class.

Parts:
Movit Big Brake Kit
Description: Aftermarket brake kit based on the Porsche 993 caliper and rotor.
Benefits: These oversized brakes offer several advantages.  The braking surface is a full third larger than the stock pads.  The pads are easily swapped through a spring clip instead of having to remove the caliper.  The holes in the Porsche OEM rotors are cast not drilled which reduces checking and increases life.
Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Description: High performance brake lines
Benefits: These stainless steel wrapped Teflon brake lines are  do no expand under brake pressure helping give the brakes a firmer feel and more direct response.
Tilton Pedal Assembly/Adjustable Bias
Description: Brake pedal assembly with adjustable brake bias control
Benefits: The front and rear brakes are on separate master cylinders allowing for specific braking feel based on the size of the cylinders chosen.  The brake bias control is used to fine tune brake bias between front and rear brakes.  In our car the pedals were cut and welded for better positioning closer to the accelerator.
