This event was my second rookie event with BMWCCA
club racing. My only experience on this track was 15 months earlier taking
a few laps in my wife's 328is automatic. Fortunately, the first
day's schedule allowed for a practice session, practice starts and a
qualifying session before the actual race. This gave me a chance to
get a feel for the track but not much of an opportunity to really master
the track but enough to get a feel for it.
With each session I was able to take several seconds off my lap
times. I qualified a disappointing 17th but managed to have an
excellent race and climb to 13th before the end of the race.
